View from Capstone Hill

Beautiful day today.  After so much driving yesterday, we decided to stay local and explore Ilfracombe.  We started off by heading up the hill that's opposite our apartment - and how beautiful it was!  Great views from up there, in both directions - back this way, and also over towards the harbour and beyond.

After that, we headed over to the harbour, looked at Damien HIrst's 'Verity' sculpture, and went up to St Nicholas Chapel on Lantern Hill - more lovely views and a really interesting little building.  Also had a quick look in the RNLI lifeboat station.  We were getting pretty hungry after that, so headed back to the apartment for some lunch.

Went back out, and explored a bit further in the other direction, via the High Street, and down to the Tunnels beaches.  More beauty!  Had a good little explore down there, then walked back via the theatre (the two white cones seen in this photo).  Absolutely knackered after all that, so came back for a bit of a rest and a cuppa.

Out again for another little explore, back again for a rest.  I watched another episode of Bodyguard while Tim watched the F1 qualifying - then we popped back out and picked up some tasty fish and chips for our dinner.  Nice chilled evening after that, and a damn good sleep!
