Meet Norman, the bin that makes charcoal

A slower morning after the night before. Strolled around Leatherhead looking for breakfast, ended up in Wetherspoons.

Packed up and drove a short distance to Epsom Common, walking through the park and on to the Ashsted Common National Nature Reserve. Both very interesting especially today’s blip which is of charcoal making in Epsom Common. Also saw the site of the well from which Epsom Salts was taken.

An untroubled drive back along the M25 for a few hours at home before it was time to set off for Canterbury to see Celestial Fire at the Gulbenkian Theatre. Led by Dave Bainbridge they play a fusion of Celtic, progressive, folk rock derived from many influences over the years. The vocalist Sally Minnear has a stunning and strong voice. One of Dave’s former bands was Iona who we saw live two or three time around the turn of the Millennium.
