Green Heron.....

I stopped in my tracks
Meandering by the creek
My heart leapt with joy

I think I've only seen two other green herons and never had my camera...this time was along small waters near the Shaker Lakes nature center trails.  It was just luck that I was even able to spot this wee green heron as they blended into the waters so well....but to my delight there they were and stood there so still.  I swore I'd travel with my larger Nikon next time altho after getting home the images on my sony were far better than the iphone ones!   I was so excited that I passed along to the next walker the heron's whereabouts....but they seemed far less thrilled...their loss.:)
