Menorca Day 10: Running for the Red Arrows

Back blip
Extra: Picking
Other favourites: Watching the Red Arrows, With beetle friend, Spotlit by light shaft, Looking out at the moat

A mixed day over in and near Mahon...
Coffee and window shopping in the morning, lunch at the fish market (of course), and then we visited La Mola Fortalesa d'Isabel II on the headland opposite Mahon. It is a vast fort, and an amazing site: I'm v. anti military/ia, but the scale and the dramatic cinematographic character of the place won me over. I can't believe there hasn't been more filming there...
While we were at the fort, the Red Arrows performed a display off the south coast of the island: we heard them fly over several times when underground, but only saw them at a distance.

Quieter evening: climbed and swam in the bay, and found a tragically beautiful dead cormorant on the rocks.
