Self Help Women

The picture shows on of our Adult Education/Self Help groups at work in a little common space between their houses.
On our last visit we came up with a plan to help them with gardens and also the schools with school-gardens.
Managing a problem!!
Alinipher who used to work on the farm, which was always too far from home for her, has had a baby and needed the work, close to home. We had women and schools who needed a horticultural advisor. She will teach and demonstrate and thew will pass on what they have learned. Not many dots to join and we solved two problems at once.
We supply seeds which we have saved on the farm and donated seeds from Ireland. They find manure locally and do all the work.
They will eat some vegetables, sell some, bring more to the women in prison and in Hospital.
They haven't enough to eat, but they share. What a group.
These are two extremely poor and deprived areas, but you would never think it to look at them. They are a wonder and an inspiration and we love them.
