St Michael's Parish Church Linlithgow

A beautiful autumnal day ... long may they continue!

An early start this morning as L and I headed to the patchwork and quilting shop in Linlithgow. Sadly, none of the Glasgow fabric shops sell the material I need.

Linlithgow is a great place for a visit ... so many different things to see and places to walk. After coffee we ALWAYS walk up to St Michael's church ..... it's beautiful both outside and in.

Mary, Queen of Scots who was born in Linlithgow Palace in 1542 was baptised in the church. In 1964 a very impressive 58ft lightweight, aluminium crown was installed above the tower. In 1992 the 750th anniversary of the church was celebrated with the installation of a new stained glass window by Crear McCartney. I have only shown part of the window .... my sister will no doubt show the whole window in her blip.
