Banded Dotterel

We went on a lengthy walk this afternoon, along South Beach to the wharf and beyond to Caroline Bay.
Lots to photograph along the way - the wild poppies were flourishing, came across this defensive mummy dotterel and her scallyway of an offspring, and very large Leopard Seal who has been lounging on the sand for almost 48 hours now.
I've gone for the Banded Dotterel, as we don't see them very often......they are part of the plover family, something I learnt today from Mrs Google.
Currently watching Bathhurst and Formula 1 from Japan at the moment.
