Granary barn

This amazing old granary dates from the late 1500’s and is Grade 2 listed by English heritage. It stands next to the parish church in our village and where we went for the Harvest family service this morning. Sadly the vicar, who is great with children, is leaving next month we heard today. His magic trick for today was to produce a cake from ‘nothing’ after a huge display of flames! He then divided the cake up for ‘sharing’ with a huge piece for himself which he started munching on and a tiny piece for the rest of us - to illustrate that most of the world only have a small amount of food to share among them while a much smaller number of us have a lot. I did take some photos of the harvest displays in the church but they didn’t come out well. It was lovely and warm in the church as they have heating under each pew - very nice!
