Psalmist with a camera

Dunking takes on a whole new meaning!

Another 'activity' that happens occasionally, on the quieter reaches of the beaches along the Arabian Gulf!

This morning we attended a baptismal service at our church and then accompanied these five to the largest baptismal tub in the region! The clouds were overhead, the sea was a glorious colour and the temperature was just perfect. This was, one down, way to go!

With total respect for cultural sensitivity of the land in which we are guests, It was all carried out with no show, no noise, no fuss, and totally unobserved by the faithful heeding the call of prayer from mosque minarets situated along the beachfront.

Mind you....we could almost have had the service at our flat last night, complete with Baptismal pool! Around 1:30am the doorbell started to frantically ring accompanied by serious hammering on the fragile timbers of our door. Grovelling to open up, I was confronted by a mini flood desperately trying to mount the tile barrier that was suppossed to afford protection to our abode and save us from any bail outs!

Canute would have been proud of my initial efforts but they were about as successful as his.

Our neighbour had a burst kitchen pipe and had not heard the water until the 'night guard' returning home roused her and then it was all out action!! That is, all out into the hallway!! Not sure where she thought the water was heading from there, except that it was going out of her house and working its way towards ours!!!

Was definitely a case of being saved by the bell!! On realising the dilema, together we swooshed it down the stairs like a cascading waterfall....Dubai fountains would have been proud...and by 2:30am we had stemmed the flow!! Bed has never felt sweeter!

Happy Blipping Everyone
