Sgwarnog: In the Field

Replay

After last season's cup exploits, Guiseley had an FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round replay against Cleethorpes Town to negotiate tonight.

I'd last seen Clee Town in the FA Vase Final at Wembley 18 months ago but they were the underdogs in this fixture, playing two leagues below the Lions. The FA Cup is a leveller though, and the Owls had the better of the game for the first half an hour or so and could easily have gone one or two up. It remained goalless at the break, and it was Guiseley who took the lead early in the second half, with Will Hatfield converting the rebound after his penalty had been well saved by Dylan Parkin. Clee struck back with the goal of the night from John Oglesby, but Kayode Odejayi headed the winner for Guiseley to earn a home tie against Stourbridge in the next round.
