Grail Quest

The weather continues... but today we went to an art gallery and a cactus farm via a restaurant with an incredibly graffiti’d toilet! Oh, we do live the life, you know.

The art gallery (pictured) in Montolieu was interesting, and was predominantly a modern art installation by Jean-Marie Martin. Working with the grail chalice mythology and the Arthurian quest for spiritual enlightenment allied with the Celtic and Breton mythos surrounding cauldrons, the exhibits offered a journey built largely of scrap wood and thousands of dome headed nails!

We then headed off to a local restaurant - Casquette & Chapeau - for a delicious three course lunch and house wines, before stopping at said cactus farm. The toilet to the restaurant appears as an extra. Most toilets suffer the indignity of random graffiti, and this one is certainly no exception, albeit it is exceptional.

I’ll not bore you with cacti...that will have to wait for the Flickr album when we get home.
