Bamboo and attap roof details - AT172

Initially I was going to post an artyfarty double layered image of this and the reflection of it on the coffee percolator top but I think this is actually abstract enough and it's to honour this sturdy roof construction that didn't crack or collapse during this early morning's earth quake tremor. Now that was something completely different ! If you've never experienced an earthquake (and we hadn't) it is definitely a 'what the heck is this' moment.

One moment you're asleep, the next moment it feels and sounds as if enormous and powerful beasts are underneath your bed and building trying to dislodge everything. It didn't take long and luckily for us and everybody here it was only a 6.4 quake , but still. By the time we realised this was actually an earth quake it was already over. Unfortunately there were fatal victims on East-Java, but Bali seems to have come through unscathed and luckily there was no tsunami. And the rest of the day has gone by without any strange rumbles and as if nothing happened.

So, inside roof details of the roof of our villa huts as an abstract for Abstract Thursday with its optional theme of 'architectural'. Please remember to tag your entries with AT172 and do tell me if your correctly tagged entry does not show up in the whole AT172 collection.

Thanks so much for your kind comments and stars on yesterday's row of wild statues :-)
