Seeds

Another glorious day of blue skies and sunshine, and remarkably warm for the time of year.

We drove up to Ashridge to see if there was much autumn colour yet. I think there is still a little way to go for the real autumn colours to show, but sitting under the trees could be hazardous with falling nuts and seed containers of all sorts raining down:  the noise they made sounded like real rain.

We climbed the 172 steps up the Bridgwater Monument to admire the view over the Chiltern countryside. Distant trees and radio towers looked like the London buildings some 30 or so miles away which can be seen from the top in clear conditions, but a misty haze in the distance prevented us from seeing the real thing.

In other news, children continue to be careless with their soft toys: the extra shows another toy left behind in the forest, thoughtfully placed on top of a pillar by some passer by.
