Thank You For the Days ..

Horrible History

After singing this morning, TM had projects of his own to pursue and I went off to the Rembrandt exhibition. It finishes this weekend so it was busy.  There were a lot of etchings, quite difficult to see properly with the crowds around them.  The self-portraits were the most interesting things, progressing from youth to old age and still fresh and compelling.

After that I walked down the High Street to Holyrood, where I was meeting TM. I was on the lookout for a blip - something architectural to suit the Abstract Thursday theme. There's plenty to go at down that way.

I've chosen a shot of Queensbery House, taken through the railings which surround it. It is now part of the Scottish Parliament and supposedly haunted by a kitchen boy who was roasted on his own spit and eaten by the mad Earl of Drumlanrig in 1707.  It's the setting for one of the Rebus novels too.

It looked quite innocent in the (brief) sunshine today.

Thanks to Ingeborg for hosting the Abstract Thursday challenge.
