Sailing, Sailing, Over the Ocean Blue

Today we mostly took a sail.

We headed to downtown Wilmington, and wandered the shops and then the front - and discovered a rather lovely boat trip .

It only went up and down the Cape Fear River - but it was gloriously warm  90 degree F  32 Degree C and whilst we were cooking in the sunshine, there was a rather lovely breeze whilst we boatied up and down.

It was a quiet boat - two couples other than us, and one single lady; the single lady was as offended by the behaviour of the  mixed sex couple as I was -  not her husband.  Bleugh.  Drink make adults behave completely inappropriately.  I hope he woke up later on and regretted his actions.

Anyhoo - it didn't spoil the run. I loved it.

In the evening we met up with the kids - J was driving and we headed to Seawitch in Carolina Beach for Dinner.  It was glorious  - loads of shrimp - I've ate so much shrimp this holiday;  no steaks.  I loved Steaks the last time we were here.

after Seawitch, Boy took us to the BEST BAR EVER - the Fat Pelican.  They called it a "Dive bar". Wow, no way. This is the happiest Bar I have ever been in.

Small and unobtrusive from the front - you walk in to a pretty small front bar area.  The locals stopped to chat as soon as we walked in.    The beer is kept in a refridgerated container attached to the bar.   Go in, select your beer - pay for it at the bar, and then go explore - funny wee rooms, with old sofas and chairs.  Tiny Rooms with park benches.  I was ten minutes in the toilet reading the black marker art.  Then in the beer garden... Wow - Sand under your toes.  Benches, Hammocks, Sun Beds, Rocking Chairs, Corn Hole, a Boat, Fairy lights, Street Signs, Shop Signs.

Perfect End to a Perfect Day!
