Polygonum

Polygonum is an evergreen perennial with a mat-forming habit and therefore great ground cover. At this time of year it bears dense spikes of small, funnel shaped, rose red flowers. It is commonly known as Himalayan Knotweed or Fleece Flower, and is native to Asia. It is low maintenance  with the leaves turning bronze in winter. Large clumps can be propagated by division, so you can spread it around difficult places as it seems to grow anywhere.
