Verulamium Roman Theatre

We were lucky to avoid the heavy rain and winds of Storm Callum today. It was very hot and sunny in St Albans. We had decided to visit the work place of our son and have a wander around the sights. I hadn’t realised it would be quite so busy on a Saturday but once there after an enjoyable Italian meal we headed for the Cathedral. It’s such an unusual building and so large see extras. Apparently it was built with some of the Roman building materials left lying around. A walk around the Verulamium park led to these remains of a Roman Theatre. It was unusual in that there was a stage present.

A delightful town with lots more to explore.
