The Train Arriving

The Royal Deeside Railway only runs for about a mile, so the train arriving at the platform has not come from far away. It can only proceed along the track for a short distance and then return to the station at Milton at Crathes. The original platform at Crathes is a hundred metres or so behind where I am standing, but is now partially absorbed into part of a private dwelling.

This rolling stock is slightly older than the trains running on the line from Aberdeen to London, but maybe not as much older as I would like to think.

The day was quite wet, heavy rain almost all day. We managed a coffee at Milton and a quick shot of this steam engine before largely giving up on the day.
