The Golden Boy

A somber lunchtime as along with nearly 200 others I went to the Playfair library at Old College to a memrorial service for Murray Sinclair - see extra.

Murray is the second former colleague in the legal services in the Scottish Government to pass away this year - each ahead of their retirement.

I got to know Murray well in the early 1990s when working on criminal procedure., confiscation and forfeiture and bail. Even then he was destined for great things and in his late 40s he headed up the legal services in the Government a post he had for 11 years until his sudden passing. Several tributes, including form the Lord Advocate.

As I left the event the sun was shining on the statue above Old College - the Golden Boy. It seeemed apt for today’s blip.
