From Now On...

All ready and waiting...and smiling..

Yesterday, there wasn't a bed at The Royal Marsden for Gail.

Today, she received a call that there was a bed and treatment would start this afternoon.

Looking back on the day, I feel very privileged to have been able to take Gail to the hospital and to meet her nurses, Alice and Mei, and to see her settle into a lovely room all to herself. To leave knowing she will receive excellent care and on the inevitable bad days ahead, she will be surrounded by a very  caring team of cancer specialists. There will be many prayers for her too.

I have called her this evening on her personal extension and she had received the first infusion of the strong chemotherapy which will prepare her body for the stem cell transplant. She had also enjoyed a delicious lasagne and a builder's size cup of tea!

I gave her a tiny ted in a pink bag to keep her company.....(my extra)

Please visit the breast cancer website to donate a mammogram to someone who would benefit from one. This is Breast Cancer Awareness Month; Gail has myeloma, a blood cancer, ellisroger, here on blip, has a little grandaughter being treated for a different cancer. https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2496386820007267847 All research needs to be supported, all patients given the best care possible. A big thank you....!
