Autumn On Castle Rock

After our shopping on Princes Street we took a rare walk across the railway to the lower paths on castle rock, catching a glimpse of the towers of New College between the two trees in their Autumnal finery.

But before we reached this level, as we stood at the end of the bridge, we watched a fox trot along the path and up the steps ahead of us, quite oblivious to the humans wandering about, unfortunately disappearing before I had dug the camera from beneath all the gubbins in my bag.

I was rather disappointed, having found St Margaret's Well, that it is half-covered by Heras fencing, (extra photo) courtesy of a council equipment dump. A few feet either side (preferable away) would have given some clearance to view the panel - presumably the employees that sited the fence have no interest in local history, which I find very sad.
