An Afternoon at the Museum

My first afternoon as an Explainer at the Cambridge Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (MAA in future refs). A quiet Thurs afternoon and I only had the opportunity to do any explaining to 3 people - an American lady, an Australian gentleman who shook my hand after our conversation and one of the other volunteers. It's a start. I used the time to take photographs of the items in 2 of my display cabinets and all the writing underneath so that I can look and get to know them at home. That seemed to be a sensible way to do it as the folder that they provide really doesn't contain all that much.

My next session of volunteering will be in 2 weeks time and I'm really looking forward to it. I didn't take the opportunity to have a wander around John Lewis afterwards ..just went straight home after a quick shop in Morrisons.

Now can anyone guess what the top cone of this head dress is made from? Not the feathers! At least one of my blip followers has blipped this material in the past few days! So one of you might get it right.
