Sgwarnog: In the Field

Dog-eared

I popped down to Spring Wood at lunchtime and found there were still a fair few Small Coppers about, albeit looking a bit dog-eared. This is one of ten individuals that I saw during the course of my walk, but that was through paying close attention to every growth of Ragwort I came near.  A single Speckled Wood was the only other butterfly activity.

Otherwise, I flushed a Kestrel from its perch and heard a Kite or a Buzzard mewing overhead, but couldn't lay my eyes on it.
