Autumn Leaf, Speckled Wood And Spring Promise

Lovely sunshine today and it was beautifully calm. I told Ollie dog that we were going dragon hunting and we weren't disappointed. I got a female migrant hawker hanging from some haws and a female common darter on  a fence post.

I've chosen to post the above because of its promise. The speckled wood butterfly is beaten about and at the end of its life and the hazel leaf has turned and will soon fall but the catkins are already formed and will dangle as 'lambs' tails' in the spring. :)
