Grains Gill

Oldest buddy S is visiting, time to head into the hills. We'd a plan for today, something on Gable, maybe the Needle if the queues weren't too bad, maybe Sphinx Ridge if it was a bit blowy. .. but in the end the weather had other ideas. By the time we reached Styhead Tarn we were soaked, that particular British hillwalking experience of being drippingly moist and fuggy.
There's only so much distraction good conversation and poor flask coffee can offer however, so eventually we headed down via Grains Gill just to make a satisfying loop of it.
Down at Derwentwater it was very nearly officially nice, so we added to the days step count and pootled aways around the lake.

And just added a Missy Extra, cos, well, why not :-)
