A worthy winner.

A busy day in the Tbay household as I have been cooking vats of food for Mrs V to take to Scotland in the morning. She is off the Braelangwell once again to enjoy the beauty of the Highland in Autum along with her cousins and many assorted friends. They are self catering so I made lots of soups and a huge sausage casserole for her to take up in the morning.

Mr Tbay was busy putting the finishing touches to his speech for this evening at Polden Hills Young Farmers Harvest Supper, where he is the guest speaker.

The Harvest Supper was held in Eddington Village Hall which was an excellent venue. The whole hall was full of tables all with lovely decorations on. A prize is given to the best table decoration which encourages members to make them. We were greeted and both bought a drink before I was whipped away to judge the best pudding competition! The ones I picked were then used for the top table. Good thing I picked well!

After a delicious meal of locally produced meats, breads and salad, followed by either apple crumble or trifle, and finished off with a local cheddar cheese and biscuits , the evening Entertainments began!

Mr Tbay gave an excellent speech about the club past and present which was very well received by all. Then it was the annual club awards time where the cups were given out. The picture is of the recipient of the award to the member who has contributed the most to the club in the past year and also coincidentally the maker of the winning trifle which proved to be rather good!

Then it was Entertainments ! As always a great treat with sketches from both members and their club advisory. All too quickly it was time for home after a great evening!

Rural life at its best!
