RW's Daily Exposures

Bald Eagle

Named Sierra, she comes from the Palo Alto Zoo to be shared for education at our Wildlife and Harvest Day. She was shot at 25 years ago (she is 30 - most Bald Eagles don't survive to be 10 years old in the wild), and lost part of her tail and has a permanently injured leg/talon. This makes her non-releasable and she does her time in education programs where children and adults can see her CLOSE up!

Check out that beak! Beautiful bird, amazingly calm, and thrilling to see up close. Thanks Sierra!
