Nature Diary ... Sun Setting.....Moon Rising

Another beautiful late summer day. So very mild. But later the temperature started to fall very rapidly, just as forecast. Perhaps this was the last day of mild weather this year. If so it was a spectacular end to the day, with the sky looking as though it was on fire and the moon triumphantly beaming over the land as if to say “We haven't gone far and we haven't gone for long.” So maybe the 147 days until the first day of spring will pass peacefully through the steps of Halloween, November 5th , and Christmas, until we see the beginning of new life once more on our beautiful planet.
