Between Showers

11.3C rainy morning, frequent showers afternoon. WNW wind to 24 mph with gusts to 36 mph.

Fergus and I went for our walk after lunch. We went round to the harbour then carried on along the park and Kilkerran road to Glenramskill House. There were some showers as we walked and some clearer bright spells. Better than yesterday's constant wind driven sheets of rain that lasted though the whole day and through the night.

We came back the same way then along the street side of the park and came home through town passing the town hall and the bookshop (closed for half day).

On the Clip while walking:
Podcast of BBC radio 3's The Verb podcast with Ian McMillan (poet, author, playwright, and broadcaster).
The Verb explored the forest as metaphor with Terry Deary and Pascale Petit.

Podcast of BBC radio 4's Word of Mouth, with the excellent Michael Rosen in the chair.
Michael Rosen talked to academic Colin MacCabe about Raymond Williams' 1976 book Keywords: A Vocabulary of Culture and Society, which looks at the changing meanings of words.

Afternoon music ... Vangelis, Rosetta. Tangerine Dream, Quantum Gate.

Note: I didn't take a camera out of the house, or indeed out of a camera case, yesterday. This will happen more frequently in the coming months.
