When a Glacier Melts.....

..... it drops its load of silt, sand and rocks. This photograph was taken early in the morning to try to create the brooding atmosphere of a glacial valley in half light. The Ferpecle Glacier has melted so far back you can just see the valley going up to it, on the left. The Mont Miné Glacier, on the right, used to join the Ferpecle Glacier apparently, in 1957 at least! Global warming is very apparent in our glacial alpine areas.

Extra is a distant view of the Pigne d'Arolla with an ancient barn in the foreground.

Thanks so much for placing yesterday's Lac Bleu reflections on the front Popular page, even though I couldn't post it till I found a café with wifi, coffee and croissants, after going up the Ferpecle Valley this morning! I shan't be able to keep up with you blips tonight, again! Two of my yoga students who have become yoga teachers, are coming to give me a lesson.... they might want to get their own back! We are eating together afterwards.
