Life through the lens...

Dem Bones

Dem Bones,
Dem Bones
Gonna walk around.

The song played out on a loud speaker as the door opened.
Part of the Halloween walk around Bolton Abbey.

I have put another photo up on extras of the river and autumn trees.
Despite the dull mizzling weather it looked stunning.

There were 17 of us on the walk from Barden Bridge to the Abbey and back.
It was glorious sunny weather when we left home, but we could see the dark clouds in the distance as we approached Bolton Abbey.
Unfortunately they didn’t lift for the rest of the day. Still it felt quite warm.

I have never seen the place so busy.
( see extra of cars parked by the river)
Nice to see families out with the young children all enjoying the Halloween Walk.

For us the highlight of the day was at the end of the walk.
We were crossing the bridge over the river when someone spotted a Dipper.
We watched it for about five minutes as it dived in.
Just couldn’t believe how fast it swam under the water. Darting here and there. Then back up and swallowed a fish before in dived in again.
An absolute delight. We were just in the perfect spot to look down and the water was clear enough.

Finally finished off with tea in the Strid Wood Cafe.

Another great day out.
