Little Missy ‘s drawing!

Woke up in Croydon, our usual hotel! Breakfast and a quick shop. I finally found a pair of slippers I like! Then back to collect the bags and on to London Bridge. A more central hotel. We waited a bit for our room as we were early, but not too long.

Spent the afternoon in the Tate Modern, in the Blavatnik building.

Level 10 for great views over that side of London. Then a look at the exhibits. How do the artist get their ideas!

Ortega replicated the floor plans of appart, ents from all over the world, cutting them out of soft cow leather. He installed the resulting soft shapes as a hanging sculpture! (Extra). The leather is beautiful!

We joined my son, his wife and the two girls just as Little Missy had her turn to do a digital drawing which was then up on the wall for a while! I loved some of the quotes on the wall:

“ I draw what I feel in my body “. Barbara Hepworth

“ To draw you must close your eyes and sing” Pablo Picasso

“Drawing is simply a line going for a walk” Paul Klee

We left them to try out drawing on a big carpet using your fingers to move the pile back and forth! The kids loved it!

We collected iPads etc from our room and joined them in the restaurant where LM created her art work! (Above)

The Hixter Bankside restaurant. The food was very good and kids go free at the time we were there! We all walked across the Millennium Bridge to their place : a small flat and now the children are asleep! lM finally slept at 9.25! We darent move too much for fear of waking her!

When Mum and Dad get back from going out with their friends we walk back across the Millennium Bridge to our hotel!! Hope they are not too late!

The other extra is Grandbaby pulling Mum’s nose! She thought it was great fun!

Back over an empty Millennium Bridge! Here you can see the 9Harry Potter Wands. Not sure what it’s all about and it’s too late to check out now! (Extra)curiosity got the better of me ! Must sleep as we’re babysitting in the morning at 9:00!
