Here and Now

Witchhazel Glow

A wide range of birds began suddenly devouring the euonymus berries and winterberries in the backyard early this morning and continued all day. I took the extra blip from the front yard where they are the most prolific in our memory. The holly berries are still orange on the trees.

With 5 more days of nearly constant rain forecast, we hurried off for a nearby hike. Mr Mole chose Sulphur Springs since it will soon be gated off to cars for the winter. We enjoyed an aerobic uphill/downhill/uphill/downhill, etc. hike in the steepest area, including some dicey crossing of deeper than usual creeks after some maneuvering of rocks and balancing ourselves with sticks. We finished just as the rain started pouring.

Wishing you a good week ahead. Thanks for visiting.
