Malay Camden

I never thought it would happen, but I've fallen a little for one particular area of London. Camden may be rough and ready in places, but there's a vibe that is undeniable, and simply carries you along. It was a contrasting morning, after a ride to Regent's Park, taking in the peace and quiet, before hitting a new high-end shopping location near King's Cross.

Now that in itself was really nice, the Coal Drops Yard being done very well. It's quite peaceful itself (though not everything is open yet), and yet... It lacks some of the soul that awaits just a 15 minute walk up the canal. The buzz starts one the main street, and carries on into the market. Our brief wander on Saturday not having revealed just how huge this market is, we spent hours soaking it all up (as well as getting a ring repaired in quicksmart time, "So will I just leave it with you then?" "Well if you don't leave it with me I can't fix it..." "Fair point...."), and then there's the food.

This is truly, honestly a foodie's paradise, with almost every type of cuisine you could think of. After some nibbles, we were enticed to a Malaysian stall, and this just confirmed that during this entire trip we haven't made a single bad choice on where to go, when, and what to eat. It was brilliant, with the most fun and friendly proprietor.

Yip. Camden. I'll be back.
