Waterfoot Moonrise

Spent most of the day working at our local community business tearoom, which is currently closed for the winter. It is due to be refurbished and today we carried out an intrusive inspection of the fabric. This basically involved lifting floorboards and smashing holes in the plasterboard walls to establish the extent of damp penetration.

Later in the day we got the assistance of a local joiner to help us complete the survey. The news wasn't good and it looks like we need a whole new floor including joists as well as new timbers for the walls. Fingers crossed the quote for the work does not exceed the money we have raised so far!

When the work was done I had hoped to catch the sun setting over the bay. However, there were few clouds and the main colour was to the east where clouds hung over the hills of Arran. I returned home and went down to my usual haunt where the river meets the sea at low tide. There were some lovely colours above Arran from the sun that was setting out of sight somewhere behind me. The scene was made rather special by the moon, which shone brightly in the icy cold air and reflected off the water.

If you go large you might just make out a couple on the beach walking towards me. I just hope the stopped a few times to take in the view behind them!
