Back Home

Hotel America was very nice. We don’t usually stay in hotels when we go abroad unless it’s just for the one night as much prefer an apartment or house as it can work out much cheaper. This hotel was handy for the Centre for the one night and a quick journey to the airport. Decided to get a taxi as it was rush hour and the taxi driver was very nippy in and out of traffic then, as we were hitting 90mph in the fast lane, I saw him check his mirror and without letting up the speed veered over the three lanes to the slip to the airport. We kinda just looked at one another in the back seat me with an open mouth! I’m sure he was under control at the wheel ;-)

Met a solo traveller in her 50s from Australia at check in and when through we sat and had a coffee with her, think I got personal and medical history in a half hour. She was good fun though, off to Venice for a few days meeting friends there.

Flight was half hour late in leaving which was due to a medical emergency on the way out from Edinburgh, lady took very unwell as she arrived on board and was decided not to fly so they had to get her case out of the hold and stairs to get off the plane.

The crew said it was the right decision or it would have been a diversion to another airport.

Edinburgh was looking good in the sunshine and it was strange being in air that wasn’t resembling a sauna haha.

We didn’t expect to enjoy the whole Spanish experience as much as we did for some reason.

So the anecdote for the holiday blues - book another. So I did!!
