Went up to the allotment and took numerous comedic photos of the spudgers and starlings noisily arguing over the food we put out - but then as I came away I realised that the tree surgeons were engaged in taking down this huge tree. (You can just see one of them, half way up on the left). Sad in that it's a big beauty, but understandable in that it's in the small front garden of a house and it's an aspen - two or three massive aspens (possibly its contemporaries) have blown down on Leith Links in storms over the last few years.
