Aspen down

Went up to the allotment quite early this morning, to find that a bit more of the glasshouse had blown away and that the neighbouring scumbags children had been over the back wall and walking on seed beds. It did not improve my mood to pass by the bowling green on the Links where a massive and beautiful aspen tree was blown down in last week's gale. The trunk had already been sawn up into sections, but it'll take them a bit longer to restore the hedge and the fence that were uprooted with it. A huge limb had also been torn off its companion which is visible in the background here, so that may have to come down too. I thought I'd previously blipped them in all their huge leafy glory, but I could only find one of the bare branches. Too late now, Meles. Blip while you can, eh?

Things got much better in the evening - the sun came out and we went to the Malt Whisky Society for good food and good company!
