A plant's a plant for a' that!

Mrs M and I went out to the shops this morning and I planned to walk back down after lunch, partly because I don't do it enough and partly to find a good Blip. Unfortunately by the time I got round to thinking about it it was already growing dim and it was pretty cloudy to begin with!

So by way of an Emergency Blip I carried this plant out on to the deck railing to get a good background. It's not one of the world's most exciting plants, being a bulb formerly included in the genus Scilla, but now known as Ledebouria socialis. I think I have that name right! It's native to parts of South Africa. I don't know why I acquired it or where from - I probably nicked a bulb from somewhere - but when I had glasshouse space I worked on the principle that if I didn't have it, then I would get it! The world if full of the most amazing plants - many attractive, many ugly, but all interesting in some way.

While doing this I fiddled around with a seed list I had on computer and thought - why don't I have Dorstenia hildebrandii forma crispa? Because I don't have space. But what a weird looking succulent! Google it!
