Autumn Colours

This was my view from the door this morning - no rain, a lot of wind but not a single Hoy Hill anywhere to be seen.
It is incredibly windy; the fallen leaves swirling in the air like dervishes until they rattle against the kitchen window startling me with their insistence.

Today I bit the bullet and made one Christmas cake. It might not win on Bake Off, but apart from the top cracking a little, it does look as though it could pass muster, especially if I turn it upside down and marzipan its bottom. I will enjoy the next few weeks feeding it brandy. With all the fruit left over, I may feel the urge to make another one..............whatever is the matter with me.........
