Sgwarnog: In the Field

Gallows

Presumably a post-Halloween gift to the local wildlife, I passed this gallows full of pumpkins on my way through Buck Wood.

I'd walked up to Thackley AFC where they had an FA Vase second round tie against West Auckland Town, who've been finalists in the competition twice in the past ten years. The Northern League teams are always strong, but Thackley resisted pressure well and began to get a few chances of their own. Getting into the final stage of the game it was still goalless. Thackley were awarded a penalty but it was saved, and shortly after West Auckland found the winner.

In other news some new cats have moved in next door. They seem to have brought some people with them. So far the cats are proving very friendly although their GPS chip seems a little off as they keep arriving at my door, admittedly only ten feet away from their own, expecting to be let in.
