Next year's crops

Every day the fields have been examined for new growth and at last there is a green mantle appearing across the farm covering the earth.  Thanks to the rain and some warmth everything is growing well as long as the slugs or any longstanding frosts keep away.  The rooks too can cause havoc, there are some in the foreground but we have a bird scarer that helps to frighten them away during this critical period.
