Varnish Vanisher

For a very long time this 2nd-hand table has been eyed up with a balance of the Business Mind saying 'it'll do' and the Woodworker Mind saying 'that surface is terrible'.

We're having a couple of 'days off' this week to do things we want to do rather than have to do, and the Woodworker's Mind has snuck in with it's want list.

I have never seen a surface absorb so much varnish.  I'm four coats in and it's beginning to have some effect.
