La vida de Annie

By Annie

Alan Bleasdale...

...was having his hair cut in the next chair to mine at the hairdresser's this afternoon. Listening in on his conversation was much more entertaining than the usual "reading" matter in there, but although he knows tons of famous people he is still a very down-to-earth guy, generally leaving posh functions early to go home for a hot Horlicks (no untoward comments please). He wouldn't diss another author, and all he would say on the 50 Shades abomination was "I have just 3 shades of grey: pepper-and-salt hair, white beard and black eyebrows; where did that combination come from?" He never stopped talking even while having his moustache trimmed, which was very disconcerting with those sharp electric trimmers in use. I would have asked to take a picture with a camera instead of this sneaky one on my phone, but when he got up to leave I looked like the creature from the Black Lagoon dripping hair dye, so thought better of it.

In other news I delivered some prints to Frodsham Methodist Church for an exhibition this weekend. What a beautiful building that is inside. Should have gone to a course tonight but 3 activities in one day is possibly 2 too many.
