Antics......

....on the estuary this morning.

I left town as dawn was breaking. All was calm and peaceful as I imagined "Zzzzz's" quietly floating out of chimney tops and drifting into the dark.

King tide caught mpp26 and I out, we had to climb the bank and walk through the trees instead of ambling through the estuary. On reaching the beach there was thick cloud along the horizon. The sky was a delicate marshmellow pink and the waves gentle as they crawled into shore leaving behind a beautiful veil edged in sea foam and softly patterned.

It was a while before the sun showed through but when it did the light was rich and golden, lighting up the waves and ripples along the beach - so beautiful, it's in extras.

And then we reached the estuary, it was a bit feisty at times. Spoonbills were ravenous as they swooped their long bills looking for food. It seems this one overstepped the boundaries and had a black-billed gull hot on his heels. Terns were swooping while gulls were chasing them, a lone white swan attacked a black swan who quickly moved along and a mischievous little banded dotterel chick was scampering in all directions, the poor mum just watched and occasionally gave a chirp.

I've struggled today with my eyes and will soon be heading to bed to rest them, well before sunset. Thanks M for a wonderful morning and for driving once we met, it was lovely to amble, chat and take some blips.

So touched by all the stars, fav's and lovely words left recently. I struggle to reply but know you understand, please know they're very much appreciated :))

Happy Tuesday everyone :)
