Far

An occasional contribution to Mono Monday with a tenuous link to today’s topic of Far. Another shot I took today would have been great for next week’s theme of Near. I don’t always look what the theme is in advance.

We were visiting Al and Liz for the day for one of our regular get togethers which involves a good lunch, a trip out, tea and cakes and a good dinner and much chewing the cud and ruminating on the state of the world!

Our visit today as a local garden centre, one we’ve been to before although there’s much more there than I realised. Lots of Christmas stuff of course. However, this little display took me back to those now far off days of summer!

The journey home was a challenge, not in terms of traffic but in terms of roadworks and speed restrictions. On one section coming up to the Dartford Crossing successive gantries said 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 40. Most were ignoring the signs meaning it could have been dangerous to try and keep to those speeds with trucks thundering along.

On a section of the M2 there were miles of 40mph leading up to roadworks yet just past there we came across more works that weren’t even signposted!

And don’t mention M20 bring closes and the M2 alternative exit we would have used also being closed which involved a detour.

Thanks to 60plus for hosting MonoMonday
