Ginkgo tree

After an active morning at the gym I was having coffee with a friend in Exmouth in the afternoon.  I spotted this lovely coloured Ginkgo tree in a nearby park and grabbed a quick blip before our coffee and cake.

The word Ginkgo triggers a 'botanic' impulse in me for it was at university many years ago that I learnt that the Ginkgo tree is the only living species in the plant division Ginkgophyta and is found in fossils dating back 270 million years ago.  Its leaves even when yellow and falling like this are surprisingly thick.
