Have A Gander At These Odd Couples

"Geese hybridise readily, in captivity, among feral populations and among wild bird populations. Identifying hybrids is fraught with difficulties. Not only are they highly variable but they do not always simply show a mix of each parent species' features."


Ollie dog and I walked around Seventy Acres Lake this afternoon. We went into the Bittern Hide briefly and I shot these geese from there. The top pic is a Canada goose with a hybrid and the bottom is a greylag with one.
