Spoonbill on high

It was fascinating seeing 5 spoonbills up high in these trees this morning - out kayaking. They’re obviously not nesting!
Its an image taken with my iPhone, inside a waterproof case, so it’s not very clear.
I did take my waterproof camera but the battery was flat. How did that happen?
