Fun at Brownies

Spent most of the day getting ready for Brownies. There’s a surprising amount to organise especially now we have the two units.
First we made some Peace doves that turned out to be very colourful , we wrote a hidden message on their wings to remember all those who have lost their lives during the wars.
One Brownie told me how her Great Grandad had been killed in the war, she was not sure if it was the 1st or 2nd , she said she was sad but a different sort of sad as she did not know him, Mummy was sadder.
We then went on the create our vegetable instruments. Sarah , one of the Mum helpers, had suggested the idea a few weeks ago so we thought we would give it go. What fun, the girls brought in a variety of vegetables from carrots to squashes and all had a go at making a sound from them.Sarah drilled the holes in the carrots to make kazoos others used pumpkins as drums.
We played along to some songs from The Greatest Showman and everyone went home with smilng faces.A few instruments were eaten afterwards ;)
